Stephen R. Galvin is a seasoned legal professional and judge serving Seat 7 of the 10th Circuit Court of Monroe County, Indiana. He has been the court’s presiding judge since his election in 2004, and was re-elected in 2010 and 2016, running unopposed in both the primary and general elections. Prior to his judicial tenure, Galvin held a variety of legal positions within Monroe County, including Attorney for the County Council, Commissioners, Auditor and Sheriff; Attorney for the Office of Family and Children; Deputy Prosecuting Attorney; and Public Defender. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Wabash College in 1978 and his Juris Doctor from Indiana University in 1981, after which he was admitted to the Indiana bar. His career reflects a broad commitment to public service and the administration of justice within Indiana.
