About Marc Karlin Attorney Marc Karlin is the Managing Partner of Karlin & Karlin, APC, a position he has held since 2017. He practices immigration law nationwide, representing individuals and families at every stage of the immigration process. Born, raised, and educated in Southern California, Marc began his legal career in civil litigation before joining forces with his late father, Philip Karlin, a respected immigration attorney, to form Karlin & Karlin. Since then, Mr. Karlin has guided clients through a wide range of complex immigration matters, including family-based cases, employment-based options, removal defense, waivers, consular processing, and long-term immigration strategies tailored to each clients goals. One of Mr. Karlins signature achievements includes successfully challenging an unfair USCIS denial of a clients green card in federal court after the agency relied on a voting allegation-despite admitting the client acted in good faith and without criminal intent. Mr. Karlin forced the government to confront its error, and the U. S. District Court ruled that USCIS acted arbitrarily and contrary to law, clearing the path to permanent residence. Valdivia Chavez v. Arellano, et al., CV 07-01383 (C. D. Cal.). Mr. Karlins commitment to community service-instilled by his father-is central to his practice. He is proud to support organizations such as Big Sunday and the Colburn School, and Karlin & Karlin regularly provides pro bono legal services to charitable organizations, including Homeboy Industries, founded by his former Loyola High School instructor and longtime friend, Fr. Greg Boyle.
