Brent Debnam Founding Partner Brent Debnam is a Founding Partner at Debnam Rust, P. C. His practice focuses on divorce and family law. Brents entire career has centered around work in the courtroom, where he is known to be an aggressive and tenacious advocate for his clients. As a law student at Texas Tech, Brent was on multiple national competition teams, including a team that won a national championship. In the courtroom, Brent believes that that the best way to convince a jury to believe in you is to passionately tell your story. Brent also possesses a special ability to take a complex set of facts and break it down into a digestible and compelling story. Brents opening and closing statements are emotional and powerful. Brent has given many closing arguments, achieving successful verdicts for his clients in front of both judges and juries. In his family law practice, he often works cases alongside his brother, and law partner, Michael, combining Brents aggressive and skilled courtroom advocacy with Michaels nuanced skills in negotiations, legal analysis, and creative solutions. At Debnam Rust, our approach to family law cases always begins with a collaborative approach. We believe that family cases involve the most personal aspects of peoples lives, often including children. However, sometimes it is not possible to come to an agreement amongst the parties. They proudly fight to protect their clients families. In his free time, Brents primary hobby is cooking. He intensively studies various different types of cooking including Italian, French, Cajun, barbecue, pizza, Indian, and various other cuisines. He frequently cooks for large groups of people, and enjoys cooking alongside Michael, who expertly pairs his food with wine. Brent also enjoys the outdoors, especially kayaking and backpacking.
