Amanda Payne Waske

Amanda is a seasoned appellate attorney and litigator who consistently provides clients with exceptional legal representation. Her commitment to excellence, keen legal acumen, and persuasive advocacy skills have made her a formidable force both inside and outside the courtroom. Whether drafting persuasive and thoughtful appellate briefs in the Michigan Supreme Court or vigorously representing clients in the courtroom, her ability to analyze intricate legal issues and present them in a clear, compelling manner is a hallmark of her practice. Amanda attended the University of Michigan and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. During her time in Ann Arbor, Amanda was an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity and captain of Michigan’s ski team. Amanda earned her law degree from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago. After law school, Amanda began her legal career at the Michigan Court of Appeals. Initially working in the research division, Amanda later served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Kathleen Jansen. Amanda gained invaluable experience at the Court of Appeals through her review of lower court records, legal research, and drafting bench memoranda. She also drafted and edited both published and unpublished opinions for Judge Jansen. Amanda worked on variety of cases, including claims for first-party or third-party no-fault benefits, property disputes, criminal appeals, constitutional issues, family law, custody and adoption proceedings, termination of parental rights, tax litigation, zoning and regulation, and challenged decisions or operating procedures of municipalities.
