Cooley Law School, 2012 David Elmore is a shareholder at Hewson & Van Hellemont with extensive litigation experience defending insurers against first-party Michigan No-Fault claims, third-party bodily injury claims, and uninsured and underinsured motorist claims. Mr. Elmore routinely advises clients in these areas and provides opinions addressing general insurance coverage, rescission and subrogation rights available through insurance policies or under Michigans No-Fault Act. Mr. Elmore earned his Bachelors Degree in English Language and Literature, with minors in political science and philosophy, from Central Michigan University in 2007. Mr. Elmore then studied law at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he graduated cum laude in 2012. Mr. Elmore was an active student member of the American Civil Liberties Union, and was an intern for the ACLUs legislative office in Lansing. Mr. Elmore also clerked for the Honorable Rosemarie Aqualina of the 30th Circuit Court in Ingham County. Mr. Elmore was admitted to practice in the state of Michigan in 2013, and was subsequently admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. Prior to joining Hewson & Van Hellemont, Mr. Elmore was an associate attorney at an East Lansing, Michigan law firm where he practiced business transactions, commercial litigation, real estate and estate planning. At Hewson & Van Hellemont, Mr. Elmore specializes in insurance fraud defense and handles numerous cases involving complex issues.
