CARA POWELL ATTORNEY While there, Cara was also working full-time as a paralegal to a local workers’ compensation defense attorney. Cara had her first child, Chloe, in September 2015, while in her first year of law school. In December 2017, Cara had her second child, Asher, just a few months after taking the bar exam. Cara and her husband, Cody, spend much of their free time trying new restaurants, attending sporting events, and spending time with their children. Cara is an avid sports fan and is picking up golf as a new hobby. Cara enjoys volunteering in the community and is the Vice President of Community Engagement for the American Cancer Society’s Associate Board of Ambassadors. She is also a member of The Junior League Tampa Bay and The Tampa Gator Club. Cara was trained in law school as a mediator and is a strong advocate for alternative dispute resolution. She is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Stann W. Givens Family Law Inn of Tampa.
