James graduated from Baylor University School of Law with honors, where he served as the student assistant for Baylors renowned Practice Court Program and on numerous interscholastic mock trial teams. James was also a law clerk to the Honorable Ed Kinkeade of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas division, and was a partner at a respected litigation boutique in Austin and an associate in the litigation section of an international law firm in Houston.
