Solo Practitioner As a solo practice attorney I specialize in various areas of civil practice including breach of contract, civil litigation, and all other matters involving risk management for both private individuals and business entities. I also assist a number of my private clients in discreet criminal defense, intellectual property protection, and matters involving probate. I know that many clients are in desperate need of clear, simple advise in order to fully understand their legal rights and and avialable options in order to make a balanced decision on how to proceed. Raymond (Ray) Humphrey was born in Dutchess County, New York which remains the home base for his loving and supportive family to this day. Ray spent his college days in Washington, DC attending Georgetown University where he found great success as an accomplished student-athlete earning both athletic and academic NCAA All-America accolades as one of the HOYAS most decorated track and field of his era. After receiving a Bachelors of Arts Degree, Ray went on to work as an assistant in the Universitys Office of Student Affairs and also with the Georgetown University Office of General Counsel. He then went on to serve eight years in the Athletics Department as Assistant Coach for the HOYAS track and Field Program before transitioning to Georgia to become the Athlete Services Coordinator for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games and joining the Georgia Bar to pursue his career as a legal advocate dedicated to serving those in need. From 1999 Ray began as a volunteer for HOPE worldwide-Georgia, a faith-based service organization focused on serving the most critical needs of children and families in Georgias hurting communities. He soon took on the position as Executive Director of the non-profit and led the organization to unprecedented heights. Since returning to legal practice, Ray has had similar success in providing independent legal counsel to a variety of corporate entities such as Turner Sports, AT&T, Magellan Health Services, and The Bell South Corporation. As an Associate at the Law Firm of Johnson & Freeman, LLC, he was a representative of the firms construction litigation group providing counsel in areas of government affairs for several municipalities involved in complex inter-governmental agency disputes and played an integral role in the tactical resolution of the multi-billion dollar Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Airport Construction project while representing the City of Atlanta. Ray has co-authored two personal development publications including Connecting Cultures in 1999, and A Profession of Faith in 2001. Ray also serves on the Board of Advisors for the Georgetown Scholars Program (GSP) offering assiting and mentoring for first generation students as they navigate through the sometime compicted issues of elite higher education at Georgetown University. He also continues in his passion for community service by serving as a board member of Positive American Youth in Atlanta, Georgia, [Payusa.org] and providing regular pro-bono service hours for elderly residents, youth offenders, and other special needs individuals as court appointed counsel and as an community advocate. Today his legal practice is concentrated in areas involving transactional law, civil litigation, and other matters of risk management.
