About
Kathlyn Smith Kathlyn graduated from Mississippi State University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. She then attended Jackson State University for her Master of Arts degree in Sociology, graduating with honors in 2012. She also graduated with honors from Mississippi College School of Law in 2018. While attending law school, Kathlyn participated in several clinics, including the Legal Aid and Guardian Ad Litem Clinics. She was also the Internal Competition Problem Editor for the Moot Court Board. She received a Certificate in Health Law and was chosen for the Jeffrey Jackson Ethics Award. She received several writing awards including Best Paper in Mental Health Law, Best Paper in Appellate Advocacy Legal Writing III, Best Respondent Brief for Moot Court and was inducted into the Writers Circle in 2018. Kathlyn has experience in several areas of law, including Labor and Employment Discrimination, Workers Compensation, Disability Rights, Family Law, Bankruptcy, and Debt Litigation. She enjoys helping her current clients gain a fresh start through the bankruptcy process. She also enjoys litigating debt claims and finds great fulfillment in advocating for her clients best interests. Kathlyn has lived in Texas for three years and loves the Dallas area. She enjoys traveling with her husband and spending as much time outdoors and with her family as she can.
