Dericka Burke

Dericka Burke is a Senior Associate at Butler and works in our Tampa office, where she practices first-party property coverage and extra-contractual cases. Dericka received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of South Florida. She then graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctorate from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2017. While in law school, Dericka was an associate editor of the Practical and Clinical Journal of Law and represented the school at the Case Classic National Mock Trial Competition in Cleveland, Ohio. Dericka also served as Treasurer of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. Before joining Butler, Dericka served as a legal intern for the Honorable Charlene Honeywell in the U. S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, where she performed legal research and prepared bench memorandums for various legal disputes. Dericka also gained valuable experience representing insurance companies in hurricane, product liability, and subrogation disputes throughout the southern cone of Florida.
