Kayla M. Scarpone

Kayla Scarpone is a Senior Associate based out of the firms Tallahassee office but also works cases out of the firms Santa Rosa Beach office. Kayla joined the firm in January 2023 and concentrates her practice in business litigation, contract disputes, labor and employment defense, community association litigation, appellate practice, construction defect litigation and insurance coverage matters. She is admitted to practice in all Florida state and federal courts. Kayla received her undergraduate degree from Florida State University, with highest honors, where she was a member of the Honors Legal Scholar Program, the Florida State University Marching Chiefs and Seminole Sound Pep Band. Kayla earned her Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law, with high honors. Kayla served on the Florida State University Law Review and was inducted into the Florida State Chapter of The Order of the Coif. Following her law school graduation, Kayla clerked for the Honorable Mary S. Scriven for three years in the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division, where she gained invaluable experience and insight into the federal court system and best litigation practices. After completion of her clerkship, Kayla returned with her family to Tallahassee where she worked for a small firm primarily acting as general counsel for local government clients, then for a regional insurance defense firm, where she gained experience litigating a wide range of cases. Kayla is a member of member of the William H. Stafford American Inn of Court, Tallahassee Bar Association, Florida Bar Labor and Employment and Appellate Practices Committees, and serves as the Chair of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association Labor and Employment Committee. In her free time, Kayla enjoys cooking, music, art and interior design, and spending time with her husband, Michael, and daughters, Adriane and Elaina (Ellie).
