Claire Hunt

Claire joined OReilly Stewart in 2019 and works within our Healthcare department. Claire completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology followed by a Bachelor of Legal Science law conversion degree at Queens University Belfast. She then moved to Cheshire in 2007 where she undertook her training contract at a niche dental negligence firm, qualifying as a solicitor in 2009. Following this, Claire moved to a larger AvMA accredited clinical negligence department at a firm in Liverpool where she remained until returning to Belfast and taking up a position at another city centre firm in 2015. Claire has practiced exclusively in clinical negligence litigation brought on behalf of Plaintiffs throughout her career to date. She has considerable experience of conducting claims of varying complexity and monetary value including but not limited to birth injuries such as cerebral palsy and Erbs palsy, general surgical and orthopaedic errors, delayed diagnosis of various types of cancer and cases arising from substandard A&E, psychiatric, neurological, oncology, paediatric and dental treatment. Claire also has experience of successfully pursuing combined clinical negligence/product liability cases. She remains committed to achieving the best possible results for her clients. Claire is dual-qualified in both Northern Ireland and England & Wales and is a member of the Law Society Clinical Negligence Practitioners Group.
