About
Sara works primarily in the area of family law which includes divorce, child custody, paternity, post-divorce matters and agency adoptions. Sara was born and raised in Marshall and graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a Bachelors in Business Administration & Accounting in 1993. She attended William Mitchell College of Law and received her law degree in 1996. Sara is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association including the Family Law Section, Lincoln-Lyon County Bar Association and the 9th District Bar Association. She serves on the executive council of the Family Law Section and was Chair of the Section from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018. She has also presented locally and state-wide on family law issues and served on various state-wide committees. Sara is active in the community and has sat on numerous local boards including United Way. She has also participated in the Blandin Community Leadership Program and was a University of Minnesota Humphrey Institute Policy Fellow in 2001-2002. More recently, Sara was elected to a four-year term on the Marshall School Board. Sara lives in Marshall with her husband, Jim and their three children. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and exercise, especially yoga.
