Virginia A. Cardwell

Virginia joined Ferguson Widmayer & Clark PC in October 2015 and focuses her practice on estate planning and estate and trust administration. Virginia received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan with Honors in 1989, and graduated from Michigan Law School in 1992. While she has enjoyed working in estate planning and probate throughout her career, she also has significant experience in a broad range of other areas including contracts and business disputes, family law, and civil litigation. Virginia has completed the Probate and Estate Planning certificate program at the Institute of Continuing Education in Ann Arbor. Virginia has been a part time instructor at Washtenaw Community College since 2010, teaching the Wills and Trusts class. She has also presented the Wills and Trusts class at Borders headquarters, the Chelsea Milling Plant, and the Ypsilanti District Library. Virginias community activities include volunteering for the Professionalism in Action Program at Michigan Law School, judging the moot court competition at Michigan Law School, volunteering for the 8th grade portfolio day at Scarlett Middle School, and participating in the Homes for Generations program (a project in cooperation with the Washtenaw County Treasurer and the Washtenaw County Probate Court).
