Cynthia A. Sherwood

Over the course of her practice, Ms. Sherwood has achieved a long record of securing acquittals, dismissals and reductions of charges for those facing charges of domestic assault, white collar crimes, drug crimes and other serious offenses. She also handles many civil defense cases, particularly as they relate to criminal matters, such as domestic violence and violations of orders of protection.A graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law Class of 2006, Ms. Sherwood has served as a member of the association's Leadership Law executive council since 2011, and she is a former member of the association's Leadership Law steering committee. She is also a former board member of the Harry Phillips American Inns of Court, and she has served on the executive committee of the Nashville Lawyers’ Association for Women as well as board member of the Nashville Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division.Among her other professional affiliations, she is a member of the American Bar Association and the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and she has earned consistent top rankings and endorsements from her peers for her outstanding professionalism and legal abilities.After graduating with highest honors from Delta State University in 1997, Ms. Sherwood attended Vanderbilt University Law School, where she obtained her Juris Doctor with honors in 2000. While there, she received the Carl J. Ruskowski Clinical Legal Education Award for her excellent academic achievements and exemplification of the highest standards in the legal profession.
