Julie E. Corley

Julie Colley Jones is a lifelong resident of Red River Parish. Her parents were Waylan Colley and Joann Luchtman Colley. She is married to Tyler Jones, who is also lifelong resident of Red River Parish, and they have four children: Tristen, Ty, Will and Mary Claire. After obtaining her undergraduate degree, Julie attended Emory University, Candler School of Theology and graduated, magna cum laude, with a Master’s of Theological Studies degree in 1999. Finally, Julie attained a Juris Doctorate, summa cum laude, from American University, Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. in 2001. After graduation, Julie clerked for Judge Stephen B. Beasley in the 11th Judicial District Court in Many, Louisiana. Julie maintained a private practice and worked as an Assistant District Attorney from January 2002 to January 2009. On January 12, 2009, Julie was sworn in as the first elected female District Attorney in the state of Louisiana.
