Shauna Sinclair Attorney at Law Born in the heart of North Texas, I grew up in the East Texas sunshine of Gladewater before my family made the move to Colorado, where I lived in Montrose and Salida for middle school and high school. As a young adult, I found myself in Tyler, Texas, and it was from there that I moved to Forney to embark on the challenging yet rewarding journey of law school. Today, I serve as the Managing Attorney at Sinclair Law Group, PC, where I bring a wealth of experience and my deep-rooted connection to Texas to the service of my dedicated clientele. My Journey Into Law From a young age, I wanted to be an attorney because I believed attorneys fought for people the most. My interest in law became more focused when I landed an administrative role at a family law firm at the age of 21. This coincided with my own personal family law issues, which solidified my decision to work in the area of family law. Education and Experience I chose to attend UNT Dallas College of Law, the newest law school in Texas, for my legal studies. The idea of starting at the ground floor of its creation excited me. It also allowed me to stay close to my and my husbands families. My class was the second one enrolled at the school. Before going to law school, I had been a paralegal for 11 years, working exclusively in family law. In 2011, I became a certified paralegal. This experience has proven invaluable in my current role as it provided me with a deep understanding of the processes and challenges faced by clients. A Personal Connection to My Clients I understand what potential clients are going through because Ive been there myself. My husband and I have a blended family and have had to navigate the normal custody and co-parenting issues. I personally identify with many of the struggles my clients face and can offer empathetic advice and solutions. Hobbies Outside Work When Im not in the courtroom or at my desk, you can find me indulging in my hobbies. I love reading books, playing with my dogs, hiking, swimming, and of course spending downtime with my family. I enjoy being outside and traveling, especially to the beach where I can snorkel. Visiting amusement parks and riding thrill rides is another one of my favorite pastimes. Awards and Honors Over the course of my career, Ive been honored with several awards. While in law school, I received numerous accolades for my performance in competitions and earning the highest grade in several courses. More recently, Ive been recognized as a Rising Star for two consecutive years by Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers. I was also invited to present a 1-hour CLE on Family Law Legislative Updates to the Kaufman County Bar Association, an honor Im particularly proud of.
