Scott Danny Ray

Danny Ray Scott Danny Ray Scott has been an attorney for over 21 years, focusing his practice on insurance claims and insurance litigation. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1993 and earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1999. In between college and law school, Mr. Scott proudly served his country as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army where he received the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon before being honorably discharged. He is an accomplished, dynamic, and creative attorney with significant experience representing plaintiffs in first party insurance cases in Texas state courts, federal courts, intermediate appellate courts, and the Texas Supreme Court. For over 13 years, he has exclusively represented plaintiffs in insurance claims and insurance litigation matters, including those arising out of natural disasters, hailstorms, fires, and other types of property damage. Mr. Scott represented over 600 plaintiffs in first party insurance lawsuits in Jefferson County, Texas following Hurricane Ike, over 500 plaintiffs in first party insurance lawsuits in Hidalgo County, Texas following 2012 hailstorms, and over 100 plaintiffs in first party insurance lawsuits in Webb County following 2013 hailstorms. In addition, he has handled many first party insurance lawsuits against various insurance companies throughout Dallas County, Colin County, Orange County, Nueces County, Harris County, Galveston County, El Paso County, Bexar County, Chambers County, and throughout the Rio Grande Valley area. Prior to exclusively focusing his practice on first party insurance claims, Mr. Scott handled a wide breadth of both civil and criminal cases, including family law, probate, criminal law, estate planning, personal injury, insurance defense, and commercial litigation matters. His previous extensive experience representing insurance companies through all stages of litigation gives him insight into the claims practices of his adversaries in his current plaintiffs insurance practice. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas Insurance Law Section, the Texas Bar College, and is a member of the Keenan Trial Institute.
