Erin King, PartnerErin is a founding partner of King & Cagle, PLLC and prides herself on her work ethic and preparedness. She practices in all areas of family law, including divorce, post-divorce modifications, alimony, child custody, child support, paternity, complex asset division, prenuptial agreements, grandparent visitation, guardianships, stepparent visitation, and appeals, as well as wills, powers of attorney, and conservatorships. Prior to founding King & Cagle, PLLC, Erin was an attorney and Director of Operations at a small, well-established local firm in Sumner County, TN. Prior to that, Erin worked at the largest domestic litigation firm in the country for close to a decade. While representing her own family law clients, she has also supervised and trained some of the best family law attorneys throughout the country. Erin was born and raised in Hendersonville, Tenn., and has lived in Sumner County most of her life. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee, and she earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) cum laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. During law school and thereafter, Erin was a military spouse, who has since gone through a divorce and understands on a personal level how a divorce can impact the lives of her clients. Erin has been admitted to practice in Tennessee since 2010 and has spent the entirety of her career practicing family law in Middle Tennessee. Erin is also admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.Erin wanted to practice family law ever since her parents got a divorce when she was a teenager, and she understands how something like a divorce or custody dispute becomes a major life event. That experience made her want to provide people with the tools to get through these difficult legal experiences while providing calm and objectivity in a tumultuous situation. It is her goal to provide her clients with the honesty and knowledge needed to have realistic expectations and make informed decisions in their case. Family law clients are rarely ever "happy" with the result, but she strives to fight for her clients to get the best possible outcome in every situation.Outside of the office, Erin lives with her significant other, Charlie, his two kids, and their dog, Leo. Erin is an avid pool player and has traveled to Las Vegas several times to compete in the APA National Championships in both individual and team events. She's been labeled by work colleagues as the "velvet harpoon" for her direct, yet tactful approach. She also enjoys reading, yoga, and spending time with friends and family.
