A. in 2001, he was standing on 21 years of practical experience, client connections, and zealous advocacy. Now, over 20 years later, Jim has begun a new venture with Betz & Port, P. A. in order to continue fighting for his clients. A long-time Minnesota resident, Jim is recognized across the state as a leader in personal injury law. Undeterred by the stonewalling tactics of big insurance companies, Jim hangs tough with his clients and has consistently obtained six-figure verdicts and arbitration awards. He loves standing up for the little guy and navigating the confusing mess left after a serious crash. When not working, Jim enjoys spending time with his blended family. He and his wife have three adult children and six grandchildren. Jim also enjoys traveling, golfing, hiking, kayaking, canoeing and especially winter camping. If not working from the office in Anoka, hes probably working from his camper in a beautiful national forest. AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTSJim is proud to have earned the recognition of his peers as having an A. V. rating under the Martindale- Hubbell rating system for ethics and competence. Martindale-Hubbell conducts ongoing surveys of attorneys based upon random samplings of other attorneys. An A. V. rating is the highest possible rating in the categories of ethics and competence. Jim was selected to Super Lawyers for 2021 - 2023. This peer designation is awarded only to the top 5 percent of attorneys in Minnesota. The Super Lawyers selection process takes into account peer recognition, professional achievement in legal practice, and other cogent factors. Jim Betz graduated with distinction from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management in 1975, as well as Hamline University School of Law (now known as Mitchell-Hamline) in 1979.
