About
Josh Sasaki is an established trial attorney with more than 25 years of experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes litigation. With the Miller Nash team, he has tried and arbitrated a wide range of civil cases but focuses on consumer and securities class actions, business governance and owner disputes, and real estate related matters, including condemnation. Josh has particularly deep experience advising clients in the banking and energy industries. He has been recognized throughout his career by organizations, such as Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers, the Portland Business Journal, and the American Antitrust Institute. Josh tailors his strategy to the specific needs of each client and each case, leveraging his creativity, professionalism, industry knowledge, and extensive experience to secure positive results through settlement or trial. Josh regularly represents clients in class action litigation in federal and state courts. His recent experience involves consumer protection (including breach of contract, fraud, the Unfair Trade Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Funds Transfer Act, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act), privacy and data security, product liability, environmental contamination, securities fraud, and antitrust. Many of his matters have involved novel or cutting-edge theories of liability, and he has particular experience with violation of Oregons securities laws. Josh also has about 20 years of experience with energy-related litigation, including traditional business disputes involving breach of contract-type claims (e.g., power purchase agreements, supply agreements, customer agreements, etc.), constitutional and regulatory challenges, and tort claims relating to catastrophic events. In addition to handling class action and energy-related litigation, Josh often represents clients in complex real estate disputes, including cases where government entities exercise their power of eminent domain to acquire private property for public use. He has successfully navigated the intricate legal and procedural aspects of condemnation proceedings, working closely with government agencies and property owners to secure favorable resolution for clients. Whether handling disputes involving land valuation, property rights, real estate brokers, or the scope of public use, Josh provides strategic counsel and aggressive advocacy to protect his clients interests throughout the entire process. Earlier in his career, Josh helped establish the firms Forcible Entry & Detainer defense program with Legal Aid Services of Oregon. More recently, he has represented a variety of pro bono clients ranging from prisoners to animal shelters.
