William C. Knox

William Clarence Knox, III was born and raised in the Hampton Rhodes area of the great southern state of Virginia. He is also the firms most active community volunteer. Mr. Knox serves as a Board member to the Clackamas Service Center and Parkrose Community Foundation. He is the past President of the Clackamas County Bar Association and sits on the CLE committee of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Knox is the past President of the Rotary Club of Clackamas and remains an active member. When asked about his community involvement, Mr. Knox states, At an early age my parents instilled in me the importance of giving back to my community. As early as childhood I have always been engaged in community volunteering and service. That desire to give back to my community has continued into my adult life and I am thankful for that. Mr. Knoxs interests are quite diverse. While in high school he was actively involved with the Chesapeake Volunteer Fire Department and Boy Scouts of America where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Mr. Knox continued serving his community by joining and becoming a sworn auxiliary police officer with the Virginia Beach Police Department. As a police officer Mr. Knox primarily worked out of the departments resort oceanfront precinct, with a concentration in basic law enforcement and traffic collision investigations. Mr. Knoxs educational credentials are exemplary. He graduated from Hampden-Sydney College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1985. In 1993, Mr. Knox decided to move Portland, Oregon to be closer to his family. In 1995 Mr. Knox was married to Lee Anne and later adopted her daughter April. In 1997 Mr. Knox decided to follow a lifelong dream, and he entered law school at Willamette Universitys College of Law. While in law school Mr. Knox earned awards for his trial skills and he was a member of the schools Law Review. Admitted to practice law in Oregon and Washington in 2000, Mr. Knox now focuses his practice in personal injury, criminal defense and domestic relations. Mr. Knoxs dedication to his clients is based on his philosophy that he is there to help his clients who are often in difficult and unfamiliar situations through no fault of their own. My approach is to listen to each one of my clients individual circumstances and to advocate on their behalf to achieve their goals. Mr. Knox has such a passion for helping in the community in so many ways. Its no surprise that between his practice and various community commitments he is also an adjunct professor at Warner Pacific College. He teaches at all three levels of higher adult learning. He teaches law classes at the associates degree level, to various law classes at both the bachelor and master degree levels. In what little spare time Mr. Knox has, he dedicates to his family.
