Robert Steffes

Robert D. Steffes is a Co-Managing Partner and Vice President at Hewson & Van Hellemont, P. C. . He joined Hewson & Van Hellemont, P. C. in January 2012 and manages the firms Grand Rapids office. Mr. Steffes, with extensive litigation and trial experience, successfully has tried cases to verdict and successfully has argued cases in the Michigan Court of Appeals. Mr. Steffes also receives appointments to sit as an arbitrator and facilitator in various types of litigation, and lectures on Michigan No-Fault Insurance and litigation issues. Since his admission to the State Bar of Michigan in 2001, Mr. Steffes has specialized in defending major Insurance Companies and the Michigan Automobile Insurance Placement Facility throughout the state. Mr. Steffes graduated from Grand Valley State University (Philosophy major) in 1997 and attended Law School at Wayne State University where he graduated in 2001. He is a member of the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, the Grand Rapids Bar Association and the Litigation Section of the Michigan Bar Association. Mr. Steffes areas of practice include Michigan Automobile No-Fault (PIP), Auto Negligence, Arbitration, Premises Liability, Arson, Insurance Fraud, and Subrogation.
