A case Ill never forget began as a man was driving to work on a rural highway when he lost control and hit a brick mailbox. The driver was killed in the accident and left behind a family with young children. Representing the family, we found that the property owner was supposed to have constructed this mailbox to break apart easily since it was on a highway. The out-of-state owners ignored regulations and created a hazard when they built a brick mailbox. Because of their actions, an ordinary day ended with a father never coming home. In the end, I was able to secure a substantial recovery for the family, but these kids would have given all the money in the world to see their dad again. These human costs are raw, real, and deeply personal. Another case that was intensely personal was one I got to work on with my sister, Dalya. A client was on her way to work when she was involved in a severe motor vehicle accident that left her unable to return to work. The insurance company fought us all the way to court and sought to discredit our clients character and work ethic. It was amazing to see so many people whose lives had been positively impacted by our client come out and support her during the trial. After a hard-fought case, we were able to achieve a fantastic win for her and give her the justice she deserved. The experience was definitely a highlight of my career.
