While practicing in Portland, Dominics work focused on litigation in the environmental and natural resource field involving the ESA, NEPA, NFMA, FLPMA, CWA, CERCLA, RCRA, public lands, grazing, federal Indian law and water rights. He also frequently worked on matters involving insurance coverage disputes, business disputes, contracts disputes, construction defects, and personal injury. In 2011, Dominic left Portland and brought his experience to Rons practice in Southern Oregon, which allowed Dominic the opportunity to work more closely with clients involved in the timber industry and expand the firms areas of practice. Today, Dominic handles most of the firms litigation, along with consulting clients on a wide variety of natural resource, environmental, real estate and business law and policy matters. Prior to his law career, Dominic worked as a sportfishing guide on the Alaskan Peninsula guiding clients for all species of salmon, halibut and rainbow trout. He also spent time working for Oregon State Universitys College Forests while attending OSU. Some of Dominics representative cases include: Oregon Natural Desert Assn v. Tidwell, 716 F. Supp.2d 982 (2010) (D. Or.) Represented numerous private ranches in Oregon as intervenor-defendants and plaintiffs in case challenging Forest Services and National Marine Fisheries Services authorization of grazing permits on the Malheur National Forest under the ESA. Stout v. Forest Service, No. 09-152-HA (D. Or.) Represented private ranch as a plaintiff in a challenge to Forest Services management of wild horses on the Malheur National Forest based on Sections 7 and 9 of the ESA. Wilderness Soc. v. U. S. Forest Serv., 630 F.3d 1173 (9th Cir. 2011) Represented the Public Land Council, National Cattlemens Beef Association, Steens Mountain Landowner Group, Oregon Cattlemens Association, Oregon Cattlemens Public Lands Committee, and Oregon Farm Bureau Federation as amicus curiae in en banc appeal challenging intervention standards in the Ninth Circuit.
