About
Prior to becoming an Attorney, I served in the Army. I was originally commissioned as an Artillery Officer with additional assignments in the Aviation Branch, serving 7 years on active duty, and then 19 years with the Reserve and National Guard before retiring with the rank of Major. It was during my time with the Army that I learned to fly helicopters, which led me to become a civilian helicopter pilot, first in the oil industry, and then in medical evacuation. It was a combination of my piloting skills and my desire to next pursue a logic-oriented career that prompted me to enter the legal field, and I graduated in 1987 from the DePaul University College of Law in Chicago. I began my legal career 30 years ago as an Associate Attorney at Williams and Montgomery, LTD in Chicago, where I served as a defense attorney for large insurance companies. I then moved to the Rockford area, where I served as an Assistant Public Defender for Winnebago County. In 1991, I opened my own, independent legal practice, now serving a range of northern Illinois legal needs, including consumer rights, family law, appeals, and more.
