Curtis D. Ripley

Curt is a partner in our Alexandria office. Curt is a seasoned litigator who focuses his practice on business and commercial disputes. He has handled a wide variety of cases in federal and state courts across the country, as well as in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Curt has been the lead attorney on several trials and arbitration hearings that have gone to verdict or decision, and he has also briefed and argued multiple appeals. Curt has a broad spectrum of experience across numerous industries and types of litigation, including contract disputes, insurance, product liability, construction, agriculture and agronomy, consumer protection and fraud, personal injury and wrongful death, antitrust, class actions, shareholder and corporate disputes, residential and commercial lending, real estate, securities and finance, healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical devices, trademark licensing, and employee non-compete and confidentiality agreements. Curts clients have included banks and lending institutions, manufacturing and transportation companies, healthcare and insurance providers, agriculture companies, oil and gas producers, automobile dealerships, large and small companies, and individuals. Regardless of the size or nature of the dispute, Curts singular focus is on achieving the best result for his client. In every case, Curt considers the legal and factual issues in light of the practical business realities and the clients particular needsand goals. While always looking to find an agreed resolution where possible, Curt is prepared to litigate if necessary and strives to put his clients in the best position to prevail. Born and raised in Alexandria, Curt graduated summa cum laude from St. Cloud State University and magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School. Before returning home to the Alexandria area, Curt practiced law for more than 17 years in Chicago and Minneapolis. Curt is an avid sportsman who enjoys fishing, hunting, and playing basketball. He particularly enjoys canoe trips to the Boundary Waters and spending time with his dog, Jake.
