Scott Carter

Scott H. Carter Shareholder Mr. Carter was born in Lakewood, Ohio. He attended Texas Christian University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in 1982. Mr. Carter then attended Southern Methodist University School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1985. Mr. Carter practiced in Fort Worth, Texas from 1985 until 1992, when he joined the Sarasota County Attorneys Office as an Assistant County Attorney from 1992 through 2000. Mr. Carter is a member of the Florida Bar (Trial Lawyers Section), the State Bar of Texas, Sarasota County Bar Association and the Judge John M. Scheb American Inn of Court. Mr. Carter is licensed to practice law in all state courts within the State of Florida and within the State of Texas, and is also licensed to practice before the U. S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Carter is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator. Mr. Carter resides in Sarasota, Florida with his wife, Clare Carter. Clare is the Director of First Presbyterian Preschool and Mr. Carter is an Elder at First Presbyterian Church of Sarasota. Together the couple has two adult children.
