Rachel M. Aguilar

It has been my dream to be a managing partner of a practice. When Blair Parker approached me about beginning the family law practice of Parker & Aguilar, I was humbled and excited. I always respected her passion for client work and her work ethic. The opportunity to partner with Blair to support family law clients was an easy decision to make. After passing the Texas State Bar, I had a brief experience in both family and criminal law. I chose family law and never looked back. Family law is incredibly rewarding. Im proud of my work in cases involving Child Protective Services (CPS). I enjoy my appointments as a childrens advocate, whether as amicus attorney or attorney ad litem. As a parent, I understand the stress, anxiety, and general overwhelm that can accompany family court litigation. I ensure that my clients are knowledgeable and prepared throughout the entire matter. I regularly appear in Title IV-D (Attorney General) Court on behalf of custodial and non-custodial parents. I am proud to accept appointments directly from Brazoria County judges for enforcement defense, parents facing termination of their parental rights, unknown fathers who have yet to be identified, parents who cannot be located, and children statutorily entitled to representation. At this point, my main goal is to make the community aware that Parker & Aguilar is ready to support their family law needs. In the season of life when property rights and children are being navigated for the first (or second, or third time), there are things that will be frustrating, hurtful, and seemingly unfair. Navigating family law litigation should not be one of them. Our firm will always focus on providing peace of mind to our clients. I am passionate about serving the communities where we practice law in South Texas. As the daughter of a Dow Chemical chemical engineer and a Sweeny Elementary school teacher, I grew up in Brazoria County, Texas, and attended Columbia High School. While in high school, I attended Brazosport College before transferring to Stephen F. Austin State University, where I graduated in 2008. There, I participated in moot court, where I twice qualified for nationals. I was also a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International. I graduated from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 2012 after holding leadership positions in Phi Alpha Delta and Student Animal League Defense Fund (SALDF). I participated in intramural moot court, mock trials, and negotiation competitions and was invited to join the Board of Barristers based on my exemplary performance. During law school, I wrote for the Texas Bank Lawyer and the Estate Planning and Community Property Journal. I also volunteered with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), an income tax return preparation program that assists low-income, disabled, elderly, or limited English-speaking taxpayers. I live in Lake Jackson with my two children. I am a fourth-generation member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in East Columbia, Texas, and enjoy reading, attending local theatre productions, and volunteer work with the SPCA of Brazoria County.
