Douglas Powell

Serving the people of Georgia since 1980 with their legal issues, attorney Douglas R. Powell is the owner of the law firm Powell & Associates, located in Atlanta, Georgia. He fosters an innate interest in helping the victims of personal injury and covers all aspects of personal injury law, including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, product liability, dog bite injury, nursing home malpractice, scooter accident injury and more, in his practice. Mr. Powell studied law at the Wake Forest University School of Law, and obtained his Juris Doctor in 1980. He was active in the schools Moot Court Program and was inducted into the Order of Barristers. After graduation, he served at the U. S. Department of Labor Office of Administrative Law Judges as Lt. Judge Advocate Generals Corps. In 1988, he established his own firm and later Powell & Associates in 2021. Experienced in various other practice areas, Mr. Powell has also handled complex cases of civil litigation, torts, professional malpractice and workers compensation law. He is a part of the Atlanta Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and holds memberships with the State Bar of Georgia, the American Association for Justice and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
