About
Heather Rooney McBride is the founding member of Rooney McBride & Smith, LLC, which she opened in 2011. Her primary practice areas include real estate & business transactions and litigation matters, estate planning and trust administration, and corporate law, including compliance, human resources, and employment issues. Heather is licensed to practice law in Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma, and she routinely represents clients in each of those states. In 2013, Heather was awarded the 2013-2014 National Association of Professional Womens Woman of the Year award for demonstrating excellence and dedication within her profession. In May 2013, Heather was recognized for her professional achievements by the Missouri House of Representatives. Heather was also named one of the Top Attorneys in Missouri & Kansas - Rising Star in 2015. Heather graduated second in her class and with Order of the Coif honors from Drake University Law School. She was a member of the Drake Law Review and received the Best Drake Law Review Note award in 2006 for her writing on Guantánamo detainees. While at Drake, Heather was a member of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity and also served as the International Law Society President. In 2007 and 2014, Heather wrote the Missouri Bar Civil Procedure practice guide article on the right to a trial by jury in civil cases. Before law school, Heather attended Evangel University, where she graduated summa cum laude with a B. A. in Spanish and a minor in music. While at Evangel, Heather was a member of the Alphi Chi and Sigma Delta Pi honors societies. Heather was born and raised in Springfield and is pleased to be practicing law in her hometown. Outside her practice, Heather maintains an active involvement in the local community. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Evangel University, the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Maranatha Village Retirement Community, the ACE mentorship program, and she is a Board of Directors member and the Board attorney for the Springfield Regional Arts Council.
