Richard E. Schwartz

Mr. Swartz has represented employee benefit plans and labor unions in matters including multiemployer pension plan mergers, the establishment and operation of a self-insured group health plan, negotiation and management of multimillion-dollar insurance and service contracts, the prosecution, defense, and settlement of claims for multiemployer pension plan withdrawal liability, and the establishment and administration of voluntary retirement benefit programs for public-sector employees. Mr. Swartz has been active in the Employee Benefits Committee of the Labor and Employment Section of the American Bar Association. Before joining the firm, he pursued graduate work in Classics and worked as the copyeditor at Transition Magazine.
