James E. Foster

James Foster Biography James R. Foster is a partner in Wicker Smiths Fort Lauderdale office where he represents clients in both State and Federal Courts with a focus in the areas of automotive/trucking litigation, premises liability, product liability, commercial litigation, matters specific to public charities and private foundations, and has unique experience litigating matters on behalf of Florida Fair Associations. Since joining Wicker Smith in 2018, James has secured numerous dismissals, summary judgments, and favorable trial verdicts. He represents a wide variety of clients, including internationally recognized corporations, non-profit and governmental organizations, and various insurance carriers. While in law school, James was very active on both trial and moot court teams, serving as the President of the Moot Court Society. He won numerous awards and competitions, including 1st place out of 112 competitors in the Feinrider Moot Court Competition, overall Best Advocate in the Hon. E. Earle Zehmer Mock Trial Competition, and Regional champion/National semi-finalist out of over 150 teams in the American Bar Associations NAAC Moot Court Competition. James previously served on the Presidents 64 initiative of Nova Southeastern University and prepared an article discussing the impact of technology on mental health for the American College of Legal Medicine (ACLM) Hirsch Writing Competition, which placed second overall and was selected for publication by the ACLM. James earned his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law in 2019 and his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in 2015. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2020 as a fourth-generation attorney in his family and admitted to the Washington D. C. Bar in 2022. Professional & Civic Affiliations
