Kevin Blaney

Over the course of his distinguished career, Kevin Blaney has established himself as one of Oklahomas foremost commercial and banking lawyers and a trusted advisor to numerous financial institutions across the state, particularly in the area of commercial lending and creditors rights. His long-standing relationships with his financial institution clients and deep understanding of commercial loan documentation and creditor remedies are the hallmark of his practice. Kevins experience includes all facets of lending, including traditional real estate and asset-based loans, oil and gas loans, agricultural loans, tribal loans, SBA and USDA guaranteed loans, loans secured by U. S. government contracts, loans involving economic development agreements, federal and state historic tax credits, low income housing tax credits, and new market tax credits. The earliest years of Kevins legal career, which began in 1977, were primarily devoted to the representation of creditors in commercial collection cases. Within just a few years, in the lead-up to a tumultuous decade marked by the oil bust and numerous bank failures across the state, he had transitioned his practice almost exclusively to matters affecting the banking industry. Since that time, he has represented and counseled numerous financial institutions and governmental agencies in a broad range of transactional and litigation matters and is highly regarded for his extensive experience in helping clients deal with troubled loans as well as analyzing, negotiating, and documenting all types of commercial loans. Prior to joining the firm, Kevin was the founder and senior partner of Blaney Tipton Hiersche & Odom, PLLC, a boutique commercial law firm in Oklahoma City, OK, that merged with McAfee & Taft in 2024.
