James Dustin Smith

Dustin Smith serves as a Senior Attorney at MDK, specializing in managing an extensive foreclosure portfolio while also overseeing all appellate and complex litigation for the Indiana practice. Since joining MDK in 2015, Dustin has become an integral part of the firm, contributing significantly to its success. In his day-to-day work, Dustin handles various aspects of the foreclosure process including, but not limited to, reviewing title reports, preparing foreclosure complaints, communicating with clients and borrowers concerning loss mitigation, preparing judgments, attending hearings, reviewing sale documents, and preparing post-sale motions. His adaptability and creative problem-solving skills are his greatest strengths, allowing him to overcome challenges and provide timely results for clients. Whether dealing with pro se borrowers, litigious defense attorneys, or internal processing issues, Dustin consistently finds innovative solutions. Dustins commitment to collaboration extends beyond MDK. While he is continuously engaged with members of MDKs Indiana team to refine processes and procedures, he also collaborates with experts outside of MDK to stay informed about industry trends.
