Matthew L. Placzek

Mathew L. Placzek started his legal career at Lowther Johnson as a law clerk, working his way up through the ranks, becoming an Associate and is currently a Member of the firm. Mat currently focuses on cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, insurance bad faith, premises liability, sexual assaults, automobile accidents, as well as litigation, and insurance coverage disputes. Mats previous practice focused on general litigation matters, real estate disputes, and collection matters and brings a general litigation background to his current practice area. Mat has tried a substantial number of bench trials in all areas of the law as well as multiple jury trials involving personal injury cases. Mat has tried cases in municipal, state, and federal courts. He has procured millions of dollars worth of settlements and verdicts for his clients during his career. Mat was selected as a Top Attorney Rising Star by Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers in 2015 and 2016 in the area of plaintiffs personal injury. Mat is a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys. He has a Certificate in Dispute Resolution and served as the Associate Chief in the Journal of Dispute Resolution at the University of Missouri School Of Law. Mat uses his background in dispute resolution to procure favorable settlements on a frequent basis both during litigation and at mediation. Mat has lived in the Springfield area his whole life. Outside the practice of law, Mat enjoys spending time with his wife and son and enjoying the beauty of the Ozark outdoors.
