Lesley Dormeyer

Lesley Michele Young and Phillip Ryan Dormeyer, both of Cape Girardeau, Mo., were united in marriage on June 12, 2010. Lesley is the daughter of Kathleen Young of St Joseph. Her grandparents are Virginia and Ronald Swartz of St Joseph. Lesley completed her undergraduate degree from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn., with bachelors degrees in accounting and human industrial relations. She received her juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. She is currently a bankruptcy attorney with Moore Law Offices in Sikeston and Cape Girardeau, Mo. Phillip is the son of Katherine Davis of Jackson, Mo., and the grandson of the late Fred and Geraldine Dormeyer and the late Quentin and Sirphenia Diebold. Phillip completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a bachelors degree in accounting. He received his juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. He is a general practice attorney with the Statler Law Firm, LLC in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The ceremony was held at the Francis Street First United Methodist Church. Dr. Susan Ventura officiated the ceremony. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her loving grandfather, Ronald Swartz. Hilary Morris of Kansas City, Mo., served as maid of honor. Mitzi Evans, Jackson, Mo., sister of the groom, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were: Allison Peaslee, Madison, Wis.; Tiffany Burnes, St Joseph; and Tara Anderson, St Joseph. Michael Siebert, Cape Girardeau, Mo., brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were: Mark Evans, Jackson, Mo., brother-in-law of the groom; friends Daniel Statler and Travis Statler, both of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and Owen Griffin of Leawood, Kan. Ushers were Tryston Clemens, St Joseph, and Casey Diebold, Lake Saint Louis, Mo., cousins of the bride and groom. Guest book and program attendants were Madison Wiggins, daughter of Mitzi and Mark Evans and niece of the groom, and friend, Tiffany Oliver, both of Jackson, Mo. Ringbearers were nephews of the groom and sons of Mitzi and Mark Evans, Owen and Samuel Evans. Following the ceremony, a sit down dinner and dance reception was held at Mitchell Park Plaza in St Joseph. The rehearsal dinner was hosted June 11, 2010, by Katherine Davis, mother of the groom, and Carolyn and John Clemens, aunt and uncle of the bride, in the backyard gardens of the Clemens home in St Joseph. The couple honeymooned on a cruise to Dominica, Puerto Rico, Aruba, Curacao, and St. Thomas. They currently reside in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
