Lauren Horsman

Lauren A. Horsman Attorney Lauren is a founding member of Puckett & Horsman, L. L. C. with over 14 years of legal experience. Lauren represents clients in contract disputes, land disputes, personal injury matters, dissolutions, paternity and custody actions, and criminal law matters. From 2019 to 2022, Lauren served as the Prosecuting Attorney for Mercer County, Missouri in addition to maintaining her private civil law practice. As Mercer County Prosecuting Attorney, Lauren tried numerous cases to verdict before judges and juries. Lauren utilizes her experience and perspective as a former prosecutor to represent her clients facing criminal charges. Lauren began her legal career as a judicial clerk for both the Missouri Court of Appeals and Missouri Supreme Court before joining the Missouri Attorney Generals Office. As an Assistant Attorney General, Lauren defended state agencies in civil rights litigation, employment matters, and personal injury lawsuits. Lauren has successfully conducted jury trials in both state and federal court as well as argued appellate matters in front of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the Missouri Court of Appeals. Prior to returning to her hometown of Chillicothe, Missouri, Lauren practiced law at a large international law firm, where she was a member of the Commercial Litigation team and participated in litigation in both Missouri and Kansas state and federal courts. Lauren is invested in her community, having served on the Chillicothe Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Chillicothe R-II Board of Education. Lauren is a Trustee of The Supreme Court of Missouri Historical Society, a member of the United Methodist Church of Chillicothe, a supporter of the Chillicothe Hornets, and a fan of the Mizzou Tigers.
