John F. Cooney

Overview John F. Cooney has spent his 35-year career as a trial lawyer representing individuals and corporations in litigation focusing on complex construction defect, professional liability and product liability lawsuits. In addition to these areas of focus, he has tried numerous cases representing clients in premises liability and trucking/transportation litigation. John has tried over 100 jury trials in his area of concentration and successfully handled well over 1,000 matters over his career in the trial courts and appellate courts of Missouri and Illinois. In the State and Federal appellate courts of Missouri and Illinois he has briefed, argued and successfully represented client in over 25 reported decisions. John has been a long-time active member of multiple trial lawyer organizations including the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates. John and his wife Cindy reside in St. Louis County, where they raised their three sons. In his spare time Mr. Cooney likes to fly fish and drive his classic British sports car when it is running.
