Return home Team Douglas W. King Doug King is a trial lawyer, concentrating primarily on complex business and commercial litigation. He is also an experienced appellate advocate, and he has defended class action litigation throughout the United States. He has counseled a variety of smaller businesses on the full range of their legal needs. As a trial lawyer, Mr. King has served as lead trial counsel in jury cases in the state and federal courts in Missouri. He has also acted as lead trial counsel in bench trials in the state and federal courts as well as trying arbitration cases in Missouri and several other states under a variety of domestic and some foreign arbitral rules. In his commercial litigation practice, Mr. King has equally represented plaintiffs and defendants. He has litigated disputes ranging from relatively small personal matters to five figure commercial disputes. As an appellate advocate, Mr. King has briefed and argued appeals in the state and federal courts in Missouri, in other federal circuits, and in other state court systems. In his class action practice, Mr. King has defended more than 80 consumer class actions in state and federal courts spread across more than 20 different states. He has also represented clients in securities, ERISA, civil rights, and medical monitoring class actions. Mr. King has also served as principal outside counsel to several small businesses, advising them on the gamut of legal issues that arise. He also resolves disputes as an arbitrator through the American Arbitration Association. He is on the American Arbitration Association panels for consumer and commercial arbitrations and for large and complex disputes.
