William D. Mason

Overview Bill Mason brings a wealth of experience to the Public Sector Group, with 28 years in government service across multiple political subdivisions. He served as Chief of Staff for Cuyahoga County from 1999 to 2022, where he oversaw county operations, coordinated the creation of Ohios first Diversion Center, and implemented a central booking system for the county jail. Before this role, Bill was the Cuyahoga County Prosecuting Attorney (1999-2012), where he led initiatives like the Community Based Prosecution (CBP) Unit and the Mortgage Fraud Task Force. Bills career began as the Law Director for the City of Parma (1993-1999), where he was Ohios youngest Law Director at the time. He also held the position of Law Director for the Villages of Walton Hills(2016-2019) and Cuyahoga Heights (2017-2019). Additionally, he served as an Assistant County Prosecutor and a City Councilman. Today, he serves as the sole Solicitor for the Villages of Garrettsville and Mantua. From 2012 to 2019, Bills first stint at Bricker Graydon, he practiced public sector and public finance law. Today he continues his focus on serving municipalities, counties, school districts, and other governmental agencies. He specializes in economic development projects, bond financing, and advising elected officials and municipalities on their most pressing needs. In his role as Chief of Staff for Cuyahoga County, Bill directed labor negotiations for 39 unions, managed bond reviews, and was heavily involved in jail diversion and early case review processes. His efforts have left a lasting impact on the county and the state.
