John David Finnegan

John Finnegan concentrates his practice in the areas of bankruptcy law and civil litigation. He represents municipalities and private clients in the areas of tax lien foreclosures, assignments, the protection of creditors rights in bankruptcy, and in litigation. John has also authored numerous articles, treatises, and presentations on municipal tax liens, foreclosures, assignments, bankruptcy and creditors rights. John serves as Special Tax Title and Bankruptcy Counsel to several municipalities in Massachusetts, and he represents individuals, businesses, and banking and financial services companies in bankruptcy and business litigation matters. John regularly appears before state and federal trial courts, and in the appellate courts of the Commonwealth, the Federal First Circuit, and the Federal District of New Hampshire. John is a past-President of the Massachusetts Municipal Lawyers Association, and continues to sit on its Executive Board. He is an associate member of the Massachusetts Collectors and Treasurers Association, and he frequently lectures to those associations members on the topics of bankruptcy, litigation, and personal liability. John previously served on the Executive Board of the Massachusetts City Solicitors and Town Counsel Association.
