Tips if you get pulled over 1. Maintain your lane and signal correctly when being stopped. 2. Open all passenger windows. 3. Have license and registration ready BEFORE the officer gets to your vehicle. 4. Be polite and respectful, but do not volunteer information. 5. Ask Why did you pull me over? and if the question is ignored, ask a second time. 6. If you are asked to exit the vehicle to determine if you are safe to go on your way, ask the officer What makes you think I am unsafe to drive?. 7. REMEMBER you are being videotaped. What NOT To Do: 1. DO NOT consume alcohol on an empty stomach. 2. NEVER EVER take a roadside sobriety test of any kind whatsoever (walk and turn, stand on one leg, eye test). 3. NEVER take any breath tests BESIDE THE ROAD. 4. Be polite and volunteer no information 5. If you HAVE been drinking, do not deny drinking but do not specify the amount (a few drinks). 6. DO NOT carry any open containers of alcohol as they smell up your vehicle. 7. DO NOT place your hands anywhere but the steering wheel or to retrieve vital documents. What TO Do: 1.
