Victor Duran

Victor Duran is a member of the labor law group. He graduated as lawyer from the Central University of Venezuela in 1993 and attended specialization courses in labor law and social security at the same university. He also was granted a specialization degree in legal arguing at the University of Alicante, Spain, in 2006 and then a masters degree in legal arguing in 2011 at the same university. In 2012 he was granted a masters degree in labor, labor relationships and social dialogue at the University of Castilla La Mancha. Before joining us, Victor worked as counsel for various unions, professional associations, cooperatives and savings funds, and also as an associate at a national firm. Similarly, between 1993 and 1998 Mr. Duran worked as reporter lawyer at the Civil Cassation Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, and from 1999 through 2004 as reporter lawyer and contracted lawyer at the Social Cassation Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, and from 1995 through 2002 as co-judge and alternate judge in Trial Court for Agricultural Matters for the Judicial Circuit of the Metropolitan Area of Caracas. Mr. Duran focuses on labor law applied to petroleum and gas companies, hotels and tourism companies, and insurance companies. He also has intensively worked in the attention and processing of administrative steps before various public administration entities in matters related to labor and social security, and lawsuits in labor courts, and processing of actions and remedies before the Supreme Court of Justice. Mr. Duran also worked as an undergraduate professor in labor law at the Central University of Venezuela and participates frequently as a speaker in forums, courses and congresses in labor law and social security.
