Rujuta Sharad Nandgaonkar

Rujuta earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology while pursuing an initial call to medicine at UCLA. As an undergraduate, she joined the leadership of several healthcare and service organizations. After graduation, she immersed herself in clinical research, eventually specializing in regulatory oversight at the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. She followed her budding interest in the regulatory aspect of healthcare to Georgetown Law, where she cultivated an extensive health law portfolio through classes, internships, clinic work, and pro bono service. Rujuta explored the intersection of law and medicine as a student attorney in partnership with Georgetowns School of Medicine. While serving as President of the law campuss ACLU chapter and Editor-in-Chief of the Georgetown Journal of Law & Modern Critical Race Perspectives, she was drawn to litigation. After receiving her Juris Doctor degree, she followed this pull to a fellowship at DC Affordable Law Firm, where she worked to close the access to justice gap for DC residents through low-bono family law and probate services. As a Bay Area native, Rujuta was excited to return to the West Coast and practice at the convergence of her interests. At Mitchell Leeds, she is a zealous advocate for injured plaintiffs. Outside of legal matters, Rujuta enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
