Kelly P. Cannon

Kelly Cannon is a lawyer and journalist whose reporting focuses on the intersection of human rights, justice, and government accountability. Her reporting on Congress, the 2020 election, and the coronavirus pandemic has been published by ABC News and aired on ABC television affiliates. Her work for the Pulitzer Center examines issues of equity in the delivery and distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine to critical populations, specifically focusing on tribal nations across the United States. Cannon began her career in journalism at ABC News in Washington, D. C. working on This Week with George Stephanopoulos, where she assisted in the coverage of events including the impeachment of President Donald Trump, the 2020 Election, and the coronavirus pandemic. She most recently worked for Andrea Mitchell at NBC News Washington bureau. Cannon earned her Masters in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. She is a licensed attorney in New York and Illinois and holds advanced degrees from Kings College London (LL. M.), Loyola University Chicago School of Law (J. D.), and her undergraduate degree from Boston College (B. A.). A Wisconsin native, she is currently based in Washington.
