Kathryn Copeland

Kathryn is an experienced and goal-oriented litigator who is dedicated to providing assertive and thorough representation to her clients. Focusing her practice on business and real estate litigation, she advocates for a variety of clients in civil matters related to contracts, collections, and evictions in state and federal court. Prior to joining Shumaker, Kathryn practiced at a small family law and personal injury firm before transitioning to business and real estate litigation at a mid-size law firm in St. Petersburg. Her practice is enhanced by her long history in the legal field—she worked as a legal assistant while completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Tampa—as well as her detail-oriented and organized nature. A born-and-raised Floridian, Kathryn is also a graduate of Stetson University College of Law. Kathryn contributes her time to various professional and philanthropic organizations throughout the community. She serves as the Vice Chair of the Business Law Section of the St. Petersburg Bar Association, is a member of The Collective at Bay Area Legal Services, and was formerly on the Hillsborough County Bar Associations Pro-Bono 5k Run Committee and a board member of Remember Honor Support, a nonprofit dedicated to memorializing the tragic events of 9/11. In her free time, she loves walking around St. Petersburg and checking out new restaurants with her husband and their dog, Max.
