John T. Easter

Biography Mr. Easter joined Padfield & Stout, LLP in 2018 and is committed to assisting the firms growing civil litigation practice. Mr. Easters practice focuses on commercial litigation where he has successfully represented clients in a wide variety of complex disputes involving breach of contract, disputes under UCC Articles 2A and 9, DTPA violations, real estate, probate, sequestrations, and fraud. He has experience trying cases to each the bench and jury and has represented clients through each the appeals process and judgment collection. Mr. Easter has utilized post-judgment remedies that include bank garnishments, receiverships, charging orders, and writs of execution. Experience & Highlights Served as first-chair in a tort and employment dispute in which my client received a favorable seven-figure jury verdict. Successfully appealed an improper jury verdict to the Amarillo Court of Appeals based upon a factual and legal insufficiency of the evidence whereby all damages assessed against my client were eliminated. Obtained federal order of replevin relating to collateral with an estimated valuation in excess of $500,000.00. Negotiated settlement on a domesticated foreign judgment, resulting in net recovery to the client of $457,000.00. Negotiated and drafted a complex settlement through which my client obtained a $3.7M+ judgment.
