Attorney at Law If you are from Richmond Hill, then you already know Lloyd D. Murray, Sr. Born in Stilson, Georgia, Lloyd moved to Richmond Hill in second grade. He started his legal practice on January 1, 1978, in Pembroke, Georgia, before moving to Ford Avenue in Richmond Hill. He was personally mentored by Judge Harvey, still well known to the SE Georgia legal community, giving him invaluable insight into the practice of law. A graduate of Armstrong State College and John Marshall Law School, Murray is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Bar Association, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Beta Epsilon National Law Fraternity, and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Murray has also served twice as President of the Atlantic Bar Association. He had the honor of being one of the three attorneys who stood up the Public Defender Program for the Atlantic Circuit, was the first building inspector, the first zoning official, and the first certified tax appraiser in Bryan County. Mr. Murrays aggressive style of representation for his clients and his reputation in the community is unparalleled. Throughout his forty-four-year career as an attorney, he has represented thousands of clients in criminal matters ranging from misdemeanors to death penalty cases. He represented Defendants accused of Capital Crimes 18 times - hes never had a client receive the death penalty. Mr. Murray has also successfully secured favorable trial verdicts in civil cases, including a $7,000,000 judgment and the largest single award received in Bryan County at that time - one of the top ten highest verdicts in the state. Mr. Murray is a passionate outdoorsman. He has fished in Alaska, the Brazilian Amazon, Costa Rica, and all over Georgia. However, his favorite place to fish is locally in the Altamaha Hall River at the Hughes Old River and Canoochi in neighboring Fort Stewart. His hunting trips have taken him all over the globe, including 33 countries in Europe, Argentina, Canada, and six African safaris. Every animal or fish Lloyd has taken has been given to locals for food and byproducts.
