Brendan Shearman

Overview After serving as a law clerk with the First District Court of Appeal in Tallahassee, Brendan returns to Southwest Florida to join the firms Tort & Insurance Litigation Department. His in-depth knowledge and experience working with state and federal judges at the trial and appellate levels provide him with keen insight into multiple aspects of litigation. Brendans foundation in the legal industry was enhanced by clerking for the Honorable Rachel Nordby of the First DCA and the Honorable Sheri Chappell of the Middle District Court of Florida. Both Judges included him in disposition conferences, pretrial deliberations, and proceedings that came before the court, where he has observed many oral arguments and rulings. Brendan also served as a legal intern for the Lee County Sheriffs Office, which provided him an insiders perspective on law enforcement issues and forfeiture matters. In fact in 2025, Brendan was recognized as a Rising Star by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine, and in 2024, Naples Illustrated magazine named him a Top Lawyer for his work in insurance law. Brendan earned his Sport Management undergraduate degree and Juris Doctorate from Florida State University. While in law school, Brendan was selected by Professor Tamara Blenkhorn as a Teaching Assistant for Legal Research and Writing. He received a 2020 FSU Law Challenge Coin, a pro bono service award, and a place on the Deans List. Brendan was born and raised in Fort Myers and follows the path of his father, Robert Shearman. Bob also graduated Florida State University law school and practiced law at Henderson Franklin for over three decades. Brendan is engaged and is excited to be back in Southwest Florida with his family. Professional and Civic Affiliations Brendan is a member of the Lee County Bar Association and the Young Lawyers Division. He has volunteered at tax clinics for low income families and enjoys participating in United Way fundraising events.
